Savour Sri Lanka: A Culinary Extravaganza at Fairfield by Marriott International Airport

Fairfield by Marriott International Airport hosted a grand gala event on Sunday, June 16th, celebrating the rich culinary heritage of Sri Lanka. The event, titled "Savour Sri Lanka", took place at the hotel’s renowned restaurant, Mado Mado, and was a spectacular success.

The evening saw the presence of distinguished guests, including His Excellency Valsan Vathody, the Consul General of Sri Lanka, who attended the event along with his graceful wife. The Consul General of Israel, Mr. Kobi Shoshani, was also in attendance, along with consular representatives from Mauritius, Spain, Germany, and several other countries. The Deputy High Commissioner of the UK, Mr. H. Kang, and his spouse also graced the occasion with their presence.

Savour Sri Lanka showcased the vibrant and diverse flavors of Sri Lankan cuisine, with a menu crafted by specially flown-in Sri Lankan chefs who collaborated with the in-house chefs at Marriott. Guests were treated to an array of authentic Sri Lankan dishes, meticulously prepared to offer a true taste of the island nation.

The event was further enriched by captivating performances from traditional Sri Lankan dancers, who mesmerized the guests with their beautiful and intricate dance forms, adding an authentic cultural touch to the evening.

Mr. Ajoy Balakrishna, Vice President of Balwa Group, played the perfect host for the evening. He expressed his excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to host the Consul Generals today for the Sri Lankan food festival. We are confident that they will relish the food prepared by our guest chefs."
