Shangri-La Bengaluru Presents 'The Ties That Bind' – A Collection of Artisanal Mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival

(Bengaluru, 8th September 2023) Shang Palace, the legendary restaurant at Shangri-La Bengaluru, commemorates the auspicious Mid-Autumn Festival with an exquisite collection of handcrafted mooncakes.  Embracing this timeless tradition that celebrates familial love and shared blessings across the Far East, Shangri-La Bengaluru is delighted to present these enchanting treats, available in four carefully curated flavours: Dates, Saffron, Lotus Seeds and Red Bean Paste, from 15 September to 15 October 2023.

Legend has it that over 3,000 years ago emperors from China’s Zhou Dynasty began worshipping the moon in autumn for a bountiful harvest in the next year.  It is in tribute to the moon goddess that the tradition of preparing mooncakes came about and is still widely celebrated across Asian countries today, where people gather and enjoy these delicious confectioneries.

This year's festival draws inspiration from the enduring beauty of Asian flowers, symbolizing the profound unity of families.  Depicting the bonds of familial love, the various fragrant blossoms come together to form a harmonious bouquet.  In tribute to this theme, and mirroring the spirit of celebration, Shang Palace presents a tasteful selection of signature mooncakes crafted using the finest ingredients.

Nestled within meticulously designed boxes, the mooncakes are a testament to the artistry of Shang Palace's culinary maestros.  Each mooncake is infused with delectable enchantment, making them the perfect token of affection to share with loved ones during this mystical celebration.
