Discounts and limited edition souvenirs from Gardens by the Bay, Resorts World Sentosa, Sentosa Development Corporation, Trick Eye Museum Singapore and Wildlife Reserves Singapore to delight Vistara’s passengers to Singapore

Delhi, August 7 2019: The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and partners welcomed passengers on board Vistara’s inaugural international flights from Delhi and Mumbai today with a taste of Singaporean hospitality. The STB, together with tourism partners like Gardens by the Bay, Resorts World Sentosa, Sentosa Development Corporation, Trick Eye Museum Singapore and Wildlife Reserves Singapore (comprising the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Safari and Jurong Bird Park) have put together value deals and discounts to popular attractions and experiences in Singapore. The discount vouchers are part of the welcome kits for Vistara’s passengers upon arrival in Singapore for the inaugural flights; and will continue to be distributed to passengers until 14 August 2019. Details of the discounts being offered can be found in the appended Fact Sheet.

Singapore received 1.44 million visitors from India in 2018, crossing the one million visitor mark for the fourth time in a row. India is also the third largest visitor source market for Singapore and has been able to retain its position as the top source market for cruise travel. The introduction of new flights from India will help more Indian travelers experience leisure, business and cruise travel to Singapore.

Mr. GB Srithar, Regional Director (India, Middle East & South Asia), Singapore Tourism Board said, “We are delighted that Vistara starts its international operations to Singapore from New Delhi and Mumbai. These two cities are amongst the key visitorship contributors from India. The new direct flight services will help bring more Indian visitors to Singapore to enjoy a multitude of experiences, catering to their different passions and interests. To welcome passengers taking the inaugural flights to Singapore, we decided to do something special for them with our tourism partners. We are happy that our attractions are offering special deals to enhance the guests’ experiences in our city.”

Sentosa continues to attract many Indian visitors round-the-year as one of the most popular attractions in Singapore. Ms. Lynette Ang, Chief Marketing Officer, Sentosa Development Corporation, Singapore, said, “Being a leading holiday destination that attracts some 19 million guests annually, Sentosa is an integral part of the Singapore experience, featuring a range of leisure experiences from dining to beaches to themed attractions and hotels all on one island. With the Sentosa Fun Pass, guests have the freedom to curate their own Sentosa experience. We are delighted to extend the Fun Pass to Vistara’s first 2,500 passengers flying into Singapore, as part of a continued effort to bring more value and a better experience to our international guests. India has been Sentosa’s top inbound market for the last three years, and we look forward to welcoming more Indian tourists to the island.”

Tourism partners in Singapore are optimistic that the introduction of new flights will bring in more footfalls. Mr Benjamin Tan, Deputy CEO & Chief Commercial Officer, Wildlife Reserves Singapore, said, “We have nurtured this market over many years, and Indian families have become an important segment for us at the Night Safari, Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park and River Safari. The flights are a welcome addition, and with our travel trade partners, we are looking forward to creating wild memories for more Indian guests.”

Echoing the same thoughts is Ms. Sinae Lee, Director of Trick Eye Museum Singapore, who said, "Trick Eye Museum is pleased to be part of this special initiative to welcome Vistara passengers from India to Singapore. Many Indian guests who have visited our museum enjoy taking photos at our 3D art exhibits, and even more so when they get to experience Augmented Reality effects through our AR app on popular exhibits such as the Merlion, the Sea Dragon and the Taj Mahal."

Ashley Aw, Senior Assistant Director, Sales & Marketing from one of Singapore’s most iconic tourist spots, Gardens by the Bay, said, “We are proud to collaborate with STB to welcome Indian visitors on the inaugural Vistara flights to Singapore. We hope that with the launch of the Mumbai and Delhi Vistara flights from India, we will be able to receive more Indian visitors to our award-winning cooled Conservatories - Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.”

Vistara will offer direct flight services to passengers from India’s two major cities – Delhi and Mumbai to Singapore with daily flights.
