About the event:
As we enter the 73rd year of being an Independent Nation, let's not forget about a different kind of dependency we're edging toward. Our water crisis is real, and we've decided to get the conversation going.
Various touchpoints across our outlets from the 14th to the 19th of August will act as a guide and share actionable information with the aim of improving our ways of water usage. Come together for our #FreedomDance on the 14th, the eve of Independence, across all our outlets to raise awareness of the severity of our current situation and what the near future looks like.
On the 15th, it's #FreedomBandh as our outlets across all cities, except Bangalore, go dry - we will, however, be open as per usual and serve your favourite dishes from the menu.
Take this opportunity to truly get familiar with the water crisis. Come together to try and make a difference. The artwork has been created by Trisha Bose, who talks about the current water crisis through her work. She says: The Great Indian Water Crisis is also your Crisis. The privileged, educated human beings are the most fascinating of all sapiens. One may observe them thriving in their natural habitat, shielded by their walls, and buoyed by their unearned confidence. Because the planet is theirs to inherit, they hose, wash, shower, splash, shop, binge, discard, and waste. And when posts talk about the very ground running out of water, they write with an orchestrated flourish, "OMG, how is this happening? #Onebucketchallenge ftw"
For the ones who seek a more regular fix, we are hosting the #FreedomLoot during 16th-19th of August with up to 40% off on our drinks menu at our Mumbai and Pune outlets, valid from 12 to 8 pm each day.
