  • Santé Spa Cuisine launches their flagship restaurant in BKC

Date : 30th October, 2023 | Santé Spa Cuisine, the multi-award winning & critically acclaimed health and wellness chain from Pune - synonymous with ‘freshly grown and preservative free cooking’ opens its outpost at the tony district of BKC in Mumbai. Offering guests the freshest, wholesome, natural, organic and healthy ingredients, with their knowledge of combining these in a most simplistic manner to satiate cravings, Sante BKC is spread in an immaculately designed cozy setting of around 1800 sq ft. It is a concept by virtue of which they plan to promote their core beliefs – vegetarianism, veganism, environmentalism, awareness and an idea of minimalism amongst the new generation. The brainchild of Sonal Barmecha and helmed by Chef Shailendra Kekade, the BKC one also has an array of interesting local and international wines & sangrias best paired with dishes like their wide array of starters like southern spices cottage cheese, the delectable dimsums, scrumptious pizzas like the Burrata Pizza, the Green Pizza and the Tempeh Slider, and soul satisfying entrées like the Organic Bajra Riso, the Grilled Cheese Steak and a large variety of homemade pastas among others.

With a philosophy of ‘less-is-more’, the Sante Spa Cuisine was introduced to diners in India and in a short span, Sante is considered as the flag bearer of wellness and healthy cuisine, paving the path for & fostering the holistic way of life. Signature inclusions like their gluten free multigrain Pizzas, their originality in introducing local and indigenous ingredients to make their gluten free pizzas and innovative vegetarian protein rich burgers, umami rich dimsums and sushi’s and completely guilt free desserts. 

The spa cuisine menu comprises of freshly made salads, wholesome smoothies, cold-pressed juices, a wide variety of starters and entrees. The juices are mostly detox, chlorophyll and matcha rich, energizing and refreshing. There are appetizers, ragi base pizzas and a variety of balanced main courses which have an option of vegan, gluten free, amino rich, protein rich and high fiber. The restaurant also has different types of shakes made with soya, almond, coconut and fresh A2 milk. There are guilt free desserts made of natural sweeteners like organic honey, jaggery and stevia. The menu is curated to suit the food palate for all age groups from infants to senior citizens. Santé uses some crockery and parts of cutlery that are made of neem wood. Neem wood is known for its antibacterial property that makes it hygienic to use. Tulsi infused water is served

The interior design is planned and detailed keeping in mind the crux of the concept which flaunts natural materials and earthen shades with vibrant elements.It is a 60 seater space. With an aim to create a soul soothing ambiance, emphasis on natural finishes blending with a lot of plantations has been created. Every small detail in the space is specially designed and curated keeping in mind the ethos of the brand and the values they carry.

Sonal Barmecha is an avid fitness and health freak turned entrepreneur. She was constantly looking out for healthy food options while dining out. That’s when she started ideating the concept of Spa Cuisine. Being an outsider in the industry, Sonal was on a quest to find like minded people that could help execute this concept to its best potential. Purely based on her perseverance, hard work and ability to create an incredible team, Sonal went on to expand this concept from a 40 seater restaurant to a 100 seater in just 1 year and then across the country in 6 metro cities. She ended up developing a franchise model to empower women with a similar thought process. Gathering a strong community of patrons for their menu,

the duo was taken by surprise how every city had its own patrons to support the concept. Sonal Barmecha, a chartered accountant by qualification emphasizes on the fact that it's never too late to discover your calling and that every woman should strive towards purpose and independence. She goes by her mantra to empower women in whatever ways possible and believes that it can create a ripple effect to bring about a positive impact on the globe in the long run.

Chef Shailendra is an avid authority on F&B and the restaurant industry. Chef Shailendra's menu favors tropical friendly dishes that draw on his classic French training but use innovative approach to provide richness versus the heaviness found in classic cuisines. He has extraordinary skills in making every recipe look stunning on a plate. Also, he has an intricate knowledge of ingredients and how they marry other ingredients to provide a contrast or a blend of naturally occurring flavors. This gives an edge to every innovation you experience from his kitchen. His vast knowledge and experience about organic ingredients gives Santé Cuisine its delicious organic menu. Chef’s keen sense of detailing and design in space and brand provides Santé with its intricate overall experience.
