A low-cost Indian airline, SpiceJet has announced that they will operate 148 special flights for the grand annual Islamic pilgrimage. The airline is all set to carry close to 11,000 Hajj pilgrims from Srinagar to Medina and Jeddah and back on special flights for the great and huge religious gathering in Mecca in 2019.

SpiceJet will deploy its Boeing 737-800 aircraft to transport pilgrims from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir to Jeddah and Medina. The flights will be operated between July 4 and July 29, 2019, and the return journey for the Hajj pilgrims is scheduled from August 16 to September 11, 2019.
