Taking care of housekeepers is our priority

Hospitality Lexis had a conversation with the Corporate Executive Housekeeper Acharya Javvaji about the housekeeping services in Waterstones Hotel

We believe in making sure our guests experience a comfortable and clean stay at our hotel while respecting their personal space and requirements. We carefully schedule room cleaning from 10 a.m to 4:30 a.m, keeping in mind that most of our customers are corporates who go to work in this time period. This strategy helps us ensure we do not disturb our guests.

In case there is a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign, we respect their request and check upon them in the evening. We call them up after a while asking them the right time to make the room. Our staff maintains a checklist to keep a track of all the rooms cleaned, making sure all rooms are spotless for our guests. Moreover, each room is cleaned by two staff members, to make sure it is sparkling clean.

At Waterstones Hotel, we make sure that resources are not wasted while maintaining a high degree of cleanliness. Laundry is done in bulk to ensure effective use of water. Our other laundry operations are done on the gas, which is a sustainable source of energy. To keep our floors clean with minimal use of water, we regularly clean with a dry mop.

Our room floors have tiles which are cleaned using a buffing machine instead of water. We understand how important it is to save resources in today’s times and keep updating our practices to be as environmentally responsible as possible.

The Housekeeping Department at our hotel is very well staffed, making sure no single person is burdened with a lot of work. As mentioned earlier, we have two staff members per room for cleaning, which reduces the workload per person. Our duty managers make unbiased schedules keeping in mind that no one is over-worked. The staff members have access to a spacious game room where they can blow off some stress with Table-Tennis, Cards, Carrom and more. We hold a monthly recreation activity like a company football match, cricket match, etc for team building and motivation.
