The 5th edition of ‘Bharat Parv’, celebrating the diversity of India comes to an end

New Delhi, February 04, 2020: Echoing the reverberating success of its previous editions, the 5th edition of ‘Bharat Parv’ concluded amid much fervor. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in collaboration with Central Ministries and State Governments/UTs the event celebrated the spirit and diversity of India in the lawns of Red Fort at Gyan Path, New Delhi. The event commenced on January 26th, 2020 as part of the 71st Republic Day celebrations with the central themes of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat’ and ‘150 years of Celebrating the Mahatma’.

The closing ceremony was graced by Shri. Yogendra Tripathi, Secretary (Tourism), Ms. Rupinder Brar, ADG (Tourism), Mr. Gyan Bhusan, Economic Advisor, Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India, Chairman & Managing Director ITDC, Mr. G Kamala Vardhana Rao and other senior officials of the Ministry of Tourism.

Anmol Zutshi, General Manager, Ashok Events Division, ITDC said, “It is a matter of immense pride and honour for each one of us at ITDC to be the executing agency on behalf of Ministry of Tourism for the six day-long extravaganza. This was the 5th consecutive Bharat Parv at Red Fort where ITDC displayed its capabilities in executing and managing mega-events to promote the rich cultural and traditional diversity of the country and to make it a wonderful experience for the visitors to such a national festival”.

The major attractions this year included the display of Tableaux of the Republic Day parade, performance by armed forces bands ; Theme stalls by Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Department of Posts, Department of Consumer Affairs; Handicraft & Handloom stalls of State Governments and TRIFED, live yoga demonstrations by Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) an autonomous organisation under Ministry of AYUSH, State Theme pavilion promoting tourism, and handicraft & handloom stalls.

In addition to the food court promoting the local cuisines of different states, food stalls by the National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) were also present. A studio kitchen was also set up for live cookery demonstrations.

The event witnessed the cultural performances by North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) who performed with a lot of zeal and fervor representing their states. Students of Ashok Institute of Hospitality &Tourism Management (AIH&TM) also participated at Bharat Parv setting up a food stall and performing nukadd natak sensitizing visitors about social issues.
