Bangalore, February 2024: In a continued endeavor to create bespoke experiences that are unique and truly unforgettable, The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru hosted the much-anticipated debut of Mr Mukund Padmanabhan's masterpiece, The Great Flap of 1942 on 3rd March 2024. The elegant afternoon featured an engaging conversation between the esteemed author, a luminary in philosophy and former editor of The Hindu, and the distinguished Indian journalist Mr. Karan Thapar from The Wire.

The discussion covered a compendium of rich experiences and positive takeaways, from the lesser-known eras of Indian history, an extremely relevant conversation in today’s day and age. 

Also, in attendance were Ms. Jayapriya Vasudevan, Mr. Sudhir Rao, Ms. Madhu Natraj, Ms. Rubi Chakraborty, and a host of distinguished personalities from the city of Bengaluru.

About the author:

Mukund Padmanabhan is a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the newly established Krea University, north of Chennai. Earlier, he was the Editor of The Hindu. He was appointed to the post in 2016 after having been Editor of the business daily, The Hindu BusinessLine, a sister publication of the group. Mukund has written extensively on political, legal, and literary subjects. He was an Adjunct Faculty at the A  Teneo De Manila University in the Philippines, where he taught media law and advanced writing to post-graduate students. He is on the board of some charitable organizations in the media, arts, and educational spaces.
