Mumbai, October 2022
If we take a road trip across our country, one thing which turns out to be a pivotal issue, especially for women, is finding a clean and hygienic washroom. This was until various chains of hotels and dhabas came to our rescue. One restaurant chain which has been there for road travellers for decades is the ‘Kamats Group’. With affordable food and hygienic washrooms, this restaurant chain has indeed become a go-to pitstop for all travellers. The group recently celebrated their annual success party on the event of their Founders Day and the celebrations became larger with Vidli Restaurant Ltd’s great performance at the Bombay Stock Exchange that has been in the news of late. Adding to the celebrations was an award ceremony that was held to recognise the hardworking and well-deserving employees and partners of the group.
While this Indian version of the fast food chain has been known to be serving us lip-smacking vegetarian food at the most reasonable price, now they are venturing into the premium dining space with their new brand ‘Kamats Legacy’. When we asked Mr Vikram Kamat, the chairman and founder of The Vitskamats Group, about what got him to venture into the fine dining space, he mentioned “While Kamats Restaurants have been serving authentic Indian dishes for decades now, it is time we introduce finesse into the dining experience of the most authentic dishes we have been serving to all our guests.”
He further added saying, “Through Kamats Legacy, we aim to introduce a huge variety of classic South Indian dishes from all 5 states of South India. What adds to the experience is the fact that all these dishes will be made by using age-old South Indian home recipes and ingredients used by our ancestors for a healthy meal. All this along with some healthy twists to the age-old authenticity will be presented with new flavours. Healthy yet no compromise in taste. The first restaurant is all set to open up in Bhandup, at the end of this month and will have flavours from Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana in their truest flavours.
