Third Eye Distillery’s spirits - Trading Tides Gin and Short Story Grain Vodka have showcased remarkable excellence at this year’s Asian Spirits Masters 2023, bagging 2 prestigious Master Medals, making it to the ‘Top 10 award winning Asian spirits’ list by Spirits Business. Short Short Grain Vodka was 1 of the only 2 vodkas featured in Asia's top 10 award winning spirits list, considering the brand is just 8 months old, this one is a milestone achievement. These exceptional libations have not only earned the distinction of securing two of the highly coveted Master Medals, but also, Third Eye Distillery was the only distillery to represent India on the list, proudly representing the Indian spirits landscape in showcasing exceptional quality.
Stranger & Sons has been leading the way with unique collaborations like the one with Four Pillars Distillery, Australia to introduce 2 limited edition gins - Trading Tides and Spice Trade. “We first met the team from Third Eye Distillery at Bar Convent Berlin in 2019 and we were taken by their passion, their expertise and by their complete and absolute charm. And their very first gin was terrific.” recalls Cameron Mackenzie (co-founder, Four Pillars). The two contemporary distilleries initiated the collaboration via email correspondence during the lockdown with a firm intent to create two expressions of gin that capture the spirit of India and Australia. Over Zoom calls and emails, they traded ideas about modern gin craft, flavors, the legacy of gin they were building and more. Stranger & Sons crafted Trading Tides, a coastal dry gin and an ode to this rather strange trade. At the Asian Spirits Master 2023, Master medallist Trading Tides Gin by Third Eye Distillery was described as “light, bright and fresh” on the nose, with “a hint of Parma Violets on the palate”. “Complex and well made,” one member of the panel noted.
Third Eye Distillery grabbed a Master medal for Short Story Grain Vodka, which impressed the panel with its “aromatic and savory” aroma, “some lime peel, hints of clove and warming spice” on the palate.
Short Story was launched by Third Eye Distillery in 2022 with Pankaj Balachandran leading the brand as Brand Director. Short Story’s spirits portfolio includes a pot-distilled classic London dry gin, a charcoal-filtered grain vodka, and an Indo-Caribbean white rum.
Short Story was created with a vision to provide the Indian spirits landscape with go-to spirits that are synonymous with quality and dependable across occasions, making it the first Indian brand with 3 white spirits in the portfolio.
Short Story has achieved remarkable recognition and acclaim in global spirits competitions within its first eight months itself. Short Story Grain Vodka has also won Gold Medals at San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2023 and Singapore World Spirits Competition 2023.
“It's amazing to see our spirits receiving global acclaim and outperforming themselves amongst spirits from across Asia. Our team constantly strives towards putting quality spirits from India on the global map and accolades like this, reinforce our belief in the tremendous potential of Indian Spirits”
