Castles have long stood as iconic symbols of beloved Disney stories – welcoming guests into a world where fairytales are brought to life and dreams really do come true. As Disney Cruise Line brings the Disney Adventure to Singapore, a stunning storybook castle art installation onboard continues this cherished tradition and brings magic to the high seas.
As the ship prepares to set sail from Singapore in March 2026, here is a preview of the first Disney castle at sea and a behind-the-scenes look at the artwork.
The stunning storybook castle will be the first of its kind in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Rising three decks tall, this unique castle draws inspiration from the spirit of adventure and the sea. It pays tribute to all Disney castles, featuring design elements borrowed from both real and imagined Disney creations. Walt Disney Imagineers researched castle renderings and concepts from dozens of Disney artists to create a design that pays tribute to all Disney castles. Styled like paper cut-outs, the castle evokes the feeling of stepping into the pages of a beloved storybook.
Themes of adventure and the sea, woven together with timeless Disney storytelling and tradition, run throughout the castle. At its center, a three-panel stained glass window celebrates beloved Disney princesses who embody adventure and a deep connection to nature. The first panel features water, sky, and the heart of Te Fiti from “Moana;” the center panel highlights the sun, earth, and Sundrop flower from “Tangled;” and the third sparkles with ice and wind, crowned by a distinctive, “Frozen”-inspired snowflake. A waterfall cascades at the castle’s base, referencing the iconic Walt Disney Pictures castle seen before every film. The wave motif surrounding the castle’s frame further ties this magical landmark to the sea, in celebration of the first Disney castle at sea. As with all Disney castles, the Disney family crest is proudly displayed, and keen-eyed guests may even spot a hidden Mickey or two within the design!
The castle’s placement in the Disney Imagination Garden is also intentional. As the creative heart of the ship, the garden mirrors the iconic main streets of Disney Parks worldwide, where every path leads to a castle at the end. Designed to celebrate 100 years of Disney storytelling, the garden is filled with beloved characters set amid idyllic scenery styled like paper cut-outs from a storybook. Just as every great adventure begins with a call to action, the Disney Imagination Garden and its enchanting castle masterpiece invite guests to embark on their own magical journey.
World of Adventure, Entertainment and Dining at the Disney Imagination Garden Disney Imagination Garden, the open-air valley at the heart of the ship, offers endless possibilities for families to explore and enjoy. The Garden Stage, set opposite the castle, will feature a captivating series of character appearances and high-energy shows, including “Let’s Set Sail,” “Avengers Assemble!,” “Captain Jack Sparrow and the Siren Queen,” “Duffy and the Friend Ship Show,” “Mickey’s Color Spin Dance Party,” and the “Baymax Super Exercise Show.“
An eclectic array of food and beverage options also awaits in Disney Imagination Garden. Mowgli’s Eatery will offer Indian-inspired fare with vegetarian and regional twists, while Gramma Tala’s Kitchen will bring Pacific and Asian flavors to life. At the Garden Bar, guests can sip on delicious Asian-inspired creations like the Teatime Tini—featuring fresh lime juice, green tea, pandan syrup, and elderflower liqueur.
