Singapore (July 29, 2025) – Disney Cruise Line is shining a spotlight on Asia’s vibrant cultural landscape with the launch of Disney Adventure’s Local Artist Series – a program that celebrates and captures the region’s vibrancy through collaborations with regional artists. Kicking off the series is Singaporean artist Danielle Tay, whose nature-focused, locally inspired piece will debut through artwork and an exclusive merchandise line that will be available only onboard the Disney Adventure.
In this special collaboration, Danielle celebrates the spirit of Singapore in her signature style, with a painting onboard the Disney Adventure that shows Captain Mickey Mouse and their friends arriving in sunny Singapore, ready to set off on new and unforgettable Disney cruise adventures. The artwork nods to Singapore’s natural and cultural landscape, featuring lush flora, vibrant fauna, and playful local patterns – from curious otters to colorful local birds and tropical blooms to the city’s iconic skyline.
In addition to this unique piece of art, guests onboard the Disney Adventure will also have the opportunity to bring home a piece of the magic of Danielle Tay’s work through a capsule collection comprising home décor, collectibles, and accessories that include vibrant tote bags, batik-print tea towels, and colorful plate sets inspired by the art piece. Fans of the illustration would also be able to purchase a special lithograph, an authorized copy of the original artwork. This collection is only one example of the exclusive products coming to the Disney Adventure that will celebrate the beauty, artistry, and diversity of Southeast Asia.
“It has been a joy and an honor to design this special collection for Disney Cruise Line. Growing up as a little girl, I was inspired by Disney’s stories and characters, so bringing that magic to life through my own artistic lens has been a dream come true. For this collection, I wanted to celebrate Singapore’s lush greenery and flora found in our garden city, and weave in everyday items that we come across in Singapore that reflect the vibrancy and whimsicality of our local culture. My hope is that each piece feels like a little adventure – a way for everyone to bring a bit of Singapore’s warmth and wonder home with them, just like Captain Mickey Mouse and friends discovering our tropical paradise,” said Danielle.
Known for the vivid colours and lively energy of her murals, paintings and collages, Danielle is a Singaporean visual artist and a graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. Inspired by the natural beauty of the green spaces she loves to explore in Singapore, she often weaves botanical elements into her work.
Her work has been exhibited widely in Singapore, with shows at OCBC Banking Hall, the Esplanade, and Chan Hori Contemporary, as well as held in private collections both locally and internationally. Danielle has also created commissioned artworks for global and Singaporean brands such as Meta, Andaz Hotel, Starbucks, Shake Shack, CapitaLand, and the Singapore Tourism Board. Her practice is rooted in a passion for enlivening spaces with joyful, nature-inspired designs that invite people to see their surroundings in new ways.
The Disney Adventure is Disney Cruise Line’s first ship to homeport in Asia. It will sail on primarily three- and four-night voyages designed with only days at sea and something for everyone to enjoy onboard.
