New Delhi, February 18, 2026: Finnair has announced the introduction of its refreshed winter–spring onboard menus, further enhancing the inflight dining experience across its European and long-haul routes. The new menus have been available on flights departing from Helsinki since 28 January 2026 and will be available through 19 May 2026, bringing a seasonally inspired Nordic culinary experience to passengers.

Finnair - New Onboard Menu

Celebrating Finnish Culinary Traditions

The updated menus draw inspiration from Finnish culinary heritage, reflecting the country’s long-standing food preservation practices. Historically shaped by the challenges of colder seasons, Finnish cuisine has relied on techniques such as curing, pickling, and fermenting to maintain freshness and flavour. This influence is evident in dishes such as orange and anise seasoned gravlax, pickled red onion accompaniments, and cold-smoked salmon preparations, all of which echo the depth and balance characteristic of Nordic gastronomy.

Seasonal Flavours Take Centre Stage

A defining feature of the refreshed menu is the prominence of blackcurrant; a flavour deeply associated with Nordic gastronomy. Across long-haul Business Class cabins, blackcurrant has been thoughtfully integrated into both savoury and dessert offerings. The flavour appears in elements such as blackcurrant gelée paired with gravlax, blackcurrant sauce accompanying slow-cooked lamb shoulder, and desserts including blackcurrant posset, creating a cohesive seasonal narrative across courses.

Elevated Dining in Business Class

In Business Class on long-haul flights, passengers can expect a multi-course dining service designed to reflect both seasonality and route dynamics. The menus feature a mix of Nordic-inspired dishes alongside regionally influenced options, ensuring variety and relevance for international travellers. On select long-haul routes with late-night departures, the meal service has been structured to include a lighter dining option followed by a more substantial brunch-style offering later in the flight. Starters include refined options such as crayfish tartare and gravlax, while main courses feature selections like slow-cooked lamb shoulder and fennel-seasoned salmon. The experience concludes with indulgent desserts such as chocolate brownies or blackcurrant-based creations, reinforcing Finnair’s focus on delivering a restaurant-style dining experience in the air.

Enhanced Flexibility for Travellers

The refreshed dining programme also extends to Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins, where menu updates continue to focus on comfort, flavour, and passenger preference. Premium Economy travellers can enjoy dishes such as grilled chicken fillet with tomato yoghurt sauce, lentil rice, green beans and onions, followed by lighter meal services including options like herb omelettes. Across cabins, passengers retain the flexibility to pre-select meals prior to departure, ensuring a more personalised inflight experience.

Curated Beverage Experience

Complementing the seasonal menus is Finnair’s updated Business Class beverage selection. The wine programme features a curated mix of European labels alongside a distinctive Finnish dessert wine, maintaining alignment with the airline’s Nordic identity.

With this menu refresh, Finnair continues to emphasise its commitment to elevating the overall travel experience, integrating culinary storytelling into its broader onboard offering. With direct connectivity between Helsinki and Delhi, Indian travellers can seamlessly access Finnair’s evolving onboard dining experience as part of their journey to Northern Europe and beyond.
