Tourism, Government of Goa, the festival drew locals and visitors alike to experience one of Goa’s most distinctive monsoon celebrations.

Known for its rich blend of tradition, history, and creativity, Bonderam is celebrated with flag parades, colourful floats, and cultural performances. While the main festival is usually held in the last week of August, Malar kicks off the Bonderam celebrations a week earlier. This year’s celebrations featured an inclusive and accessible programme, ensuring participation from all sections of society. MLA of the Cumbarjua Constituency, Shri Rajesh Faldessai; renowned Goan singer Smt. Hema Sardessai; Parish Priest of Malar, Fr. Joao Coelho was among the key attendees at the event.

Bonderam Festival (03)

The Bonderam Festival 2025 offered a vibrant line-up of activities that blended tradition, culture, and entertainment. The day began with Bonderachem GEDTalks and Bonderancho Uzvaad, featuring engaging talks, Goan folk performances, and creative workshops, followed by Bonderachem Jevonn, offering an array of traditional delicacies. In the afternoon, the celebrations featured the symbolic Bonderam Flag Parade, the Bonderachi Pássoi (heritage walk), and the much-anticipated Bonderachi Parade with colourful floats and traditional costumes. The celebrations culminated in a high-energy musical evening with live band performances and DJ sets at the Malar Flagpost.
