(NYSE: NCLH), which operates world-renowned cruise brands, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, is celebrating 10 years of significant growth, innovation and success in Asia Pacific. This week, the three cruise lines honoured the milestone with a tri-brand celebration at their new Sydney office, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the Asia Pacific headquarters – a sign of the long-term commitment to the region.

Since establishing its inaugural sales and marketing hub in Sydney in October 2015, the company has seen significant growth in the region. What began with a modest presence of approximately 20 employees across Australasia, has grown into a thriving regional workforce of almost 200 staff across sales, PR and marketing, administrative services and operations, reflecting a decade of remarkable development and collaboration. This regional success has unfolded alongside NCLH’s global expansion from a fleet of 22 ships in 2015, to 34 award-winning vessels in 2025 offering more than 71,000 berths and destination-immersive itineraries to over 700 locales worldwide, with 13 new ships anticipated by 2036. Over the past decade, the company has expanded its regional, fostered longstanding relationships with its valued trade partners, media and industry stakeholders, and established a tri-brand presence that now delivers a wide range of cruise experiences for travellers from Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

The celebration was made even more meaningful as the original leadership team reunited in Sydney to commemorate the prestigious occasion. Led by industry veteran, Steve Odell, SVP International and Consumer Sales, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the team laid the foundation for NCLH’s Asia Pacific operations. Senior executives including Lisa Pile, Vice President Sales & General Manager Asia Pacific for Regent Seven Seas Cruises & Vice President Sales, Asia at Oceania Cruises; and Ben Angell, Vice President and Managing Director Asia Pacific for Norwegian Cruise Line were also instrumental in this journey. Together, with over 75 years of combined global experience across airlines, cruise and premium hotels, their expertise has been invaluable in shaping the brand’s regional presence.

“Celebrating 10 years since we opened our Asia Pacific office is a proud moment for all of us. It’s been an incredible journey of growth, innovation, and partnership with our valued travel advisors. It’s especially meaningful to now be in our new Sydney home, which reflects not simply how far we’ve come, but where we’re headed. The move reinforces the power of our tri-brand presence in the region and our commitment to delivering exceptional cruise experiences,” said Steve Odell, Senior Vice President International & Consumer Sales, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

All three cruise lines have built strong loyalty in the region, nurtured by consistent leadership and a culture that develops and supports long-term talent. “We’ve established genuine trust across our brands - Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises – with our guests, trade partners, and shoreside staff. This is thanks to consistent leadership from Ben and Lisa, and has been fundamental to our success,” Odell added.

Over the past decade, NCLH has made significant investments in the Asia Pacific region, establishing local call centres for all three brands and strengthening regional operations, thus expanding its presence.

Looking ahead, NCL, Oceania Cruises and Regent have exciting developments planned for Asia Pacific, building on the strong growth they have achieved over the last decade1.

“As we celebrate 10 years in Asia Pacific, I’m especially proud of the strength and balance of our three brands working side-by-side,” said Ben Angell, Vice President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific for NCL. “Steve’s leadership laid the foundation, backed by a consistent long-serving leadership team who was present right from the beginning. Together with our trade partners and our passionate local NCL team, we have built a thriving, collaborative environment. We are excited to continue evolving our presence, and the power of our tri-brand strategy ensures we can keep delivering exceptional cruise experiences for a diverse range of guests across Asia Pacific.”

Over the past decade, NCLH has nearly doubled the number of ships deployed across Asia Pacific, with guests now able to choose from a diverse range of itineraries visiting destinations throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. The company remains committed to strengthening relationships with its valued trade partners through its dedicated and seasoned teams, comprehensive training programs, innovative tools and resources, and a robust ongoing program of in-person sales and training events to support and empower the trade. This commitment ensures that travel partners have the knowledge, resources and support they need to deliver outstanding cruise experiences to their clients.
