The exhibition, held from February 5-7 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, served as a dynamic platform for bilateral engagement, bringing together tour operators, travel agents, wedding planners, MICE specialists, and film and OTT production representatives. The Türkiye pavilion at Booth Number P-C 350 showcased the country's diverse tourism offerings from Istanbul, Cappadocia, Antalya, Izmir, Bodrum and more, from its rich historical treasures and vibrant cultural experiences to its stunning natural landscapes and world-class hospitality infrastructure.
Commenting on the participation, Mr. Mustafa Kemalettin Eruygur, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye, said, “Our presence at OTM 2026 with an expanded delegation reflects Türkiye's strategic focus on the Indian market, which has emerged as one of our most dynamic and promising source markets. This platform has enabled us to strengthen existing partnerships while forging new collaborations that will enhance the travel experience for Indian visitors. We showcased Türkiye's evolving tourism landscape—from our ancient civilisations and UNESCO World Heritage sites to contemporary attractions, adventure tourism, wellness experiences, and our renowned culinary heritage. The participation of Turkish Airlines further strengthens connectivity between our nations, making Türkiye more accessible than ever for Indian travellers. As we look ahead, we remain committed to welcoming Indian visitors with the warmth and hospitality that Türkiye is celebrated for worldwide.”
In 2025, Türkiye welcomed 64 million foreign visitors, marking a 2.7% increase compared to the previous year and solidifying its position as one of the world's most visited countries. This upward trajectory reflects the growing allure of Türkiye among Indian travellers, driven by enhanced connectivity, diverse tourism products, and increasing cultural affinity between the two nations. The rising popularity of Turkish series in India has further strengthened this cultural connection, fostering curiosity and interest in Turkish destinations, cuisine, and lifestyle. Türkiye's vibrant culinary scene, home to numerous Michelin-starred restaurants that blend traditional Anatolian flavours with contemporary innovation, adds another compelling dimension to its tourism appeal. The strategic presence of Turkish Airlines, along with visa facilitation measures and competitive travel packages and world class hospitality, continues to make Türkiye an increasingly attractive destination for Indian tourists.
