Treat yourself to tradition this Chinese New Year with Yauatcha’s new limited edition menu!

The Chinese dim sum teahouse Yauatcha is thrilled to welcome in the Lunar New Year 2024, embracing the Year of the Dragon with a decadent limited-edition menu. Building upon the success of last year's celebration of the Year of the Rabbit, Yauatcha Mumbai will be transformed into vibrant havens adorned with bespoke dragon designs, graphics, and colorful lanterns reminiscent of Hong Kong teahouses.

The dragon occupies the fifth position in the Chinese zodiac and is the only mythical animal in this astrological system, symbolizing power, authority, and good fortune. Drawing inspiration from these characteristics, our mixologists have crafted exceptional drinks to enhance the festive spirit.

This year's menu is designed to feature dishes believed to usher in good fortune and prosperity in the new year. Among Yauatcha’s dim sum offerings, is the Lobster and Mozzarella Kataifi Dim Sum—a delightful fusion of succulent lobster encased in crispy Mediterranean kataifi, harmonized with Japanese mayo for a unique blend of Asian and Mediterranean flavors. Additionally, the Lotus Root-Wrapped Exotic Mushroom Dumpling boasts sweet Lotus root from Thailand, coupled with earthy mushrooms, and topped with a fermented chili sauce, introducing a rustic dimension that perfectly resonates with the spirit of the Year of the Dragon.

For stir-fry delights, the Three-Style Stir-Fry Eggplant and Water Chestnut with Sanpei showcases wok-tossed eggplant and water chestnut bathed in authentic sanpei sauce, boasting notes of sweetness and spice. Meanwhile, the Claypot Chicken in Emperor Sauce delivers perfectly stir-fried chicken with pineapple, harmonizing humble flavors of garlic, shallots, and lemongrass, creating a delightful balance of sweet and earthy notes.

For the staple offerings, the Hot Basil Fried Rice features handpicked sweet basil wok-tossed with rice, infused with the bold flavors of pungent ginger, onion, and garlic, offering a satisfying blend of earthiness and sweetness and the Crispy Noodle with Toban Sauce, where rich aromas from our homemade Toban sauce envelop fried noodles, sugar snaps, and shimeji mushrooms, creating a delightful symphony of spice and crunch.

For dessert, our patisserie team has crafted two delightful offerings in honor of the Year of the Dragon. The Chinese New Year Dragon features a white sesame sponge adorned with praline, kumquat compote, and ginger mousse, symbolizing the strength and significance of this zodiac animal. On the other hand, the Chinese New Year Macaron presents Dragon-stained macarons filled with Jasmine Tea and Mandarin, offering a harmonious blend of citrus and Asian tea notes.

The Dragon Tail, meticulously prepared with kumquat, dragon fruit, raspberry yuzu, gin, and sake, offers a fruity delight with enticing sour notes. This cocktail pays homage to the dragon's mythical allure and captivates the palate with a harmonious blend of flavors. In contrast, the Red River Dragon introduces a bold combination of Baijiu, Aperol, amaro Montenegro, and yuzu juice, creating a symphony of bitter and sweet notes that mirror the dynamic qualities associated with the dragon.
