Under the culinary leadership of Executive Chef Viraf Patel, the brunch menu marks the beginning of a new culinary direction at the restaurant, while still retaining the inimitable Olive philosophy that has made it a mainstay on the city’s restaurant scene for almost two decades.
Over the years, Olive has been taking steps to become more mindful of wastage, and to adopt increasingly sustainable practices. This is seen in the restaurant’s decision to move away from a brunch buffet format, and to offer dishes on order instead.
Diners will be able to pick from a Grazing Board as they arrive, which features a rotating mix of items including options like Hummus and Falafel, Baba Ganoush; Labneh with Honey; Roasted Red Pepper ‘Ajvar’ (a pepper-based spread); Kimchi; House-cured Beetroot Pastrami; Cheese; and a lot more. Offerings from the grazing board are replenished as often as diners like.
A Breakfast Bread and Dessert Counter offers Croissants; Danish; and Pain au Chocolat; as well as house-made jams; vegan nut butters (cashew, almond and peanut); and desserts like Baklava; Seasonal Fruit Cheesecake; Warm Toffee & Date Pudding; and Dark Chocolate Cookie with House-Made Ice Cream.
All other brunch offerings are available on order. This includes a selection of Sourdough Toasts such as Chilled Egg Salad & Chives; Spiced Lamb & Stewed Figs; Mascarpone & Fresh Fruit; and Avocado & Salsa.
Those who like to begin their day with Eggs will enjoy Chef Viraf’s exciting new additions like Fried Eggs with Chili; and Cilbir, garlic whipped yogurt with poached egg, chili butter and sourdough bread; as well as more traditional options like Eggs Benedict; Omelette; and Eggs Florentine.
Pizzas have always been a mainstay on Olive’s menus and the new brunch menu will not disappoint on that front. Guests can enjoy Fresh Sourdough Pizzas like Breakfast Pizza with tomato, mozzarella, and an egg, as well as ham or bacon; Roasted Mushrooms & Shredded Kale with caramelized onions and crumbled feta; and Salami Picante.
Another live station available at Olive’s brunch is a Waffles & Pancakes Station where guests can order freshly-made waffles and pancakes, with seasonal toppings.
That’s not all; a Mains section offers dishes like Fried Chicken on Waffles with Gravy; Gooey Truffle Mac n Cheese; Breakfast Black Rice Bowl with Veggies; Soba Noodles in Kimchi Broth with Vegetables; and Fish Tacos with Guacamole and Spicy Salsa.
