A federal agency of the Food and Drug Administration of the United States Department of Health and Human Services or USFDA erect salmonella bacterium in an at least three bunches of MDH Sambhar Masala.

Salmonella bacteria normally live in animal and human intestines. Salmonella infection called salmonellosis is a well-known bacterial disease that disturbs the intestinal tract. The US FDA unveiled that the three lots of MDH Sambhar Masala were taken off the shelves earlier and the test results revealed the product contained salmonella.

The MDH Sambhar Masala was tested by FDA to determine if it contains salmonella and also urged the consumers to return their packet of spice to the place of purchase for a full refund, according to the reports.  Salmonella poisoning is often linked to contaminated water or foods. The symptoms of salmonellosis include abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, fever and vomiting.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) assessed Salmonella causes about 1.2 million illnesses, 23,000 hospitalizations, and 450 deaths every year.
