A grand temple of Sita will soon be built in the Phalswari village in Uttarakhand. the news was recently announced by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. A massive temple dedicated to Goddess Sita will be built at the spot in Pauri, Uttarakhand. It is believed that she took Samadhi at that spot.
Rawat said that the proposed Sita Mata circuit will prove to be a major milestone in terms of development in this region. Work on the plan has already started. He also asked every household from all villages in the area to donate a slab, a handful of land, and INR 11 each for the construction of the temple.
This news is quite a surprise to a lot of people as there aren’t many temples in our country that are dedicated to Sita. However, it is expected that this temple will attract people from across the world, and also give exposure to Pauri district and the other nearby villages in Uttarakhand. The location has been finalised with the help of the Uttarakhand Space Application Centre (USAC). The report has also been submitted to the tourism department and state government.
Phalswari is not only picturesque but also has many temples dedicated to Luv and Kush, Shiva, Sita, and Laxman.UCAS Director Mahendra Pratap Singh said that a multi-purpose water pool will be developed by using two micro attachments on River Randigad, which merges with the Ganga. Phalswari has ancient temples, walkways, and water bodies. It is very much apt to attract tourists. He expressed hope that a Sita circuit has the potential to become a major religious tourism destination in the near future.
