Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) food safety officers targeted malls in the city to check if the recent state government directive to remove signages prohibiting entry of people in the eateries was being adhered to. It came to light that six kitchens there had not removed the signages.
Teams of food safety officers checked food outlets in prominent malls at Gorwa, railway station, Fatehgunj and Manjalpur. Officials said the malls had around 75 eateries with kitchens.
It came to light that six of these still had signages stating that entry into the kitchen was restricted. These signages were removed by the officials and the eateries warned not to place them again.
