Vnya – Of the Wild Now in Goa!

13/06/2022

Vnya launched its second store on the 6th of June 2022 at the prime location of The Paperboat Collective in Salgonda, Goa, as their second step towards reaching the eventual goal of establishing a chain of waste-less grocery stores and a lifestyle brand for pan-India. Vnya is dedicated to revolutionising agricultural production in India by creating a waste-less world. The launch of their Goa store will help the 2-year-old company transition from wasteless to zero-waste. The dry and fresh grocery and wellness products brand offers a wide range of healthy ready-to-eat snacks, fresh cooking ingredients, superfood supplements, and natural home & personal-care products. For their Goa store, Vnya has added a range of homemade spices specially made by Mamta Sarin, the talented mother of Supriya Sarin, the brand founder. Additionally, it will offer a new line of chemical-free and clean lifestyle goods such as toilet cleaners and hand-washes, to name a few.

Vnya’s Goa store is completely waste-free, an impressive feat that Vnya has achieved through a number of methods including swapping glass jars for rent or deposit, allowing customers to use their own containers which Vnya will fill and deliver, alongwith renting out cloth bags. Vnya works with Maka Naka Plastics to make bags from cloth waste. One can learn to compost at the Goa store as well. They have a composting setup there for customers to see and experience.

They also go one step further and get into waste segregation with the local municipal bodies. The brand has launched a platform called ‘Waste-less by Vnya’, which encourages people to segregate waste at the source, send dry waste for recycling and compost wet waste. Vnya gives its customers a space where they can drop their dry waste which is further segregated and given to local waste collectors. Over the last two years, Vnya has also begun the practice of planting a tree for every order they receive. Beginning in the Aarey Forest of Mumbai, Vnya has planted over 780 trees in several locations, a tradition they continue with the launch of their Goa store.

The team at Vnya created their original store in Juhu, Mumbai 2 years ago, and after a successful run, the brand has expanded operations to Goa wherein it finds many forward-thinking and evolved mindsets that want to be mindful of their life choices. The brand commits to providing its customers with organic and non-toxic foods as well as biodegradable products that help towards a healthier and cleaner life and environment.

Vnya is collaborating with the Paperboat Collective, a unique homegrown concept store that caters to its customers and the environment, in equal measure. All of Vnya’s products will be available at their store and vice-versa. This collaboration is a conscious decision that makes the best out of limited spaces and reduces their carbon footprints. Supriya Sarin, the co-founder of Vnya, explained the personal connection she had built with the city since the shift in her style of living and states “People in Goa embrace an increasingly spiritual way of life and understand the importance of sustainable and

wholesome living. In Mumbai we have a more multi-brand approach for our physical store and website offering, however, in Goa, our new store is a 100% authentic Vnya store.” Feeling seen by Goa’s sense of community, Supriya wanted to be part of the conversation surrounding sustainable living.

About Vnya:

Vnya – ‘Of The Wild’, was inspired by the idea of food forests. The name and the logo depict different aspects of the forest and the planet respectively. The green base of the logo symbolises a tree trunk, the Star denotes the sacred geometric symbol for creation and the 4 triangles represent the sacred geometric symbols for the 4 elements: earth, water, fire, and ether. Vnya was created to combine two simple yet currently unattainable ideas – clean eating and zero-waste living. The love for nature and animals, and a growing passion for clean foods were the beginning of this ever-growing and conscious journey.

Vnya believes in making fresh and seasonal produce accessible at the time – they are nutritionally abundant as they have the highest amount of nutrients, antioxidants, and phytonutrients. Seasonal produce that naturally ripens in the sun is fresher, tastes better and in turn, helps in clean and healthy living.

All Vnya products are personally collected and curated to cater to a group of self-conscious individuals who understand and imbibe the idea of consuming natural foods. The raw materials are obtained directly from the source to maintain a clean and waste-free chain, benefiting those who work hard to produce them using organic methods like water mills or hand chakkis to conserve electricity. The ingredients used to make their products are pollution-free. The produce retains immense natural benefits as it travels directly from the soil, coming from the regions best suited to grow the produce, and is not processed and free from artificial ingredients.
