Waterstones Hotel initiates a ‘Swacch Hotel Abhyan’

This World Environment Day, Waterstones Hotel initiated a Swacch Hotel Abhyan on 5th June 2018 to promote cleanliness in and around the property.

The hotel is steeped in 5 acres of nature would be prone to water clogging due to garbage collection. It was the idea of our Training Team to take an initiative to focus on Garbage disposal along with some fun.

Waterstones, being a nature-inspired hotel strongly believes in the saying ‘Cleanliness is close to Godliness’. Every year the hotel holds a cleanliness drive where the team members are made aware of the importance of keeping the surroundings clean.

The drive is followed by an activity which divides the participants into teams and asks them to clean areas allotted to them. The activity got a massive response from the participants. Employees across departments like Security, Housekeeping, Human Resources to Front Office and various others departments sent in their nominations.

The ‘Swacch Hotel Abhyan’ takes place once a year, before the onset of monsoon to avoid any kind of garbage flow during the season. The activity is planned and organized by the Training team, filled with enthusiasm. From garbage bags to brooms and aprons, everything is provided to the volunteers. To add an element of fun and healthy competition, the team to clean maximum garbage is awarded prizes.  

The initiate takes place to encourage the idea and importance of cleaning not just at home but also in the workplace. ‘Keeping the environment clean not only helps in keeping the employees healthy but also boosts their morale’, quotes General Manager, Training – Chetna Singh. Waterstones Hotel promises to continue taking many such cleanliness drives and other initiatives to help the society in making it a cleaner place to live in.
