Hospitality Lexis/ Print edition December 2019

We carry out small extra cleanings every day along with the regular cleaning of the rooms, corridors, restaurants and other public areas during the day in which it won’t take much of the time and guests do not get disturbed. Heavy-duty cleanings of the public areas are scheduled in the night after the restaurants gets closed and in rooms, we do it during the day by taking them OOS where engineering team fixes and checks all the electrical, painting and plumbing work did a 4 to 5 hours and then we carry out through deep cleaning along with cleaning carpets.

Once the room is ready Engineering manager along with Housekeeping manager walk the room and check if the room is ready to sell. Every room goes for a deep cleaning minimum of 3 times a year.

We are using eco-friendly chemicals for cleaning and laundry from Diversey which requires minimum water to wash. We also operate our boiler for 4 to 5 hours in a day and in a week 1 or 2 days we shut the laundry completely to save electricity and water. We are collecting all empty plastic water bottles and giving it to an NGO named for recycling. We are also collecting all used Soaps and giving it to an NGO for recycling where they give it to Orphanage homes.

Recognition is the key aspect to keep all the associates and executives motivated in the daily meeting. Apart from that speaking to them one on one and connect with their personal lives improves the bonding with the associates is important. We also organize team-building activities, rewards team outings to keep them engaged with others. We also make sure that every associate gets there weekly time offs, planned annual leaves and festival holidays to keep them attached with their families as well.
