Automation systems, elevating your vacation rental revenues.

STAAH, elevating the hospitality business globally since 2008, had recently organized the webinar on 'Future of Vacation Rentals and Home stays', the forte which has a promising future in the present as well as upcoming era. Vacation rentals have not just led to the creation of micro-enterprises but also wonderful ways of contributing the society.

While sharing his experience with the audience, Panelist Pranav Maheshwari, Founder, Vista Rooms has said "We started  Vista in 2015 and we've had our share of pivots. At this moment we've identified is a brand in the home segment, most of them have been premium homes which we are targeting across".

Changing scenario of tourism due to the pandemic

Amanpreet Singh Bajaj, GM-India, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Airbnb, has thrown light on the changing scenario of tourism due to the pandemic. He said "We know that over the last 18 months travel has fundamentally changed and in this current state of global uncertainty, what we're seeing is that travel is seeing a comeback however travel is coming back in a new normal and new trends are continuing to define the consumer preferences. The pandemic is driving key shifts in the way we live we work or we travel. We are seeing is that travellers are moving away from mass tourism centres and today they are now interested in a newer form of travel and short getaways road trips weekend breaks".

He also quoted ”In one of our surveys, 85 per cent of the respondents said that they want to stay in unique accommodations and that they are more than willing to explore newer formats of accommodation. An important aspect that he shared is 15 of the homestay owners spend their earnings on community well-being and this is helping bring social empowerment to many sections of the society."

Your home can actually now become a profit centre.

While interacting with the audience Nibhrant Shah,CEO Isprava and Founder of Lohono stays has shared the insights from the supply perspective and mentioned "Homeowners and asset owners are now taking this entire homestay market a little more seriously. Last year, while hotels were effectively shut down the demands for beautiful standalone homes, has increased. Now it can become a proposition where your home can actually now become a profit centre".

Covid played a role of Demonetization for hospitality

Talking about the demand for Homestays and vacation rentals, Deven Parulekar, Founder, SaffronStays has said that Covid played the role of Demonetization for hospitality. By citing an example of Paytm, which has witnessed exponential growth during and after demonetization he stated "After demonetization, everything became digital currency same covid has done for vacation onto spaces. Before covid majorly people were looking for five-star hotels but now they are looking for properties from where they can enjoy and that too while continuing their job i.e. work from home. Work from home and online schooling was the big drivers for the occupancy in homestays and vacation rentals".

The webinar was hosted by Rutu Motihar, Regional Head, Business Development, STAAH and Moderated by Amanpreet Singh Bajaj, GM-India, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Airbnb.

Guest Speaker, Julie George Author/speaker Million Dollar Host has shared her experience about the first rental booking she got 5 years back, " In 2016 when I decided to give access of my 1 bedroom apartment for Airbnb, I got the first booking within the 2 minutes and the guest, as well as returns, were incredible".

She also appreciated the STAAH vacation rental automation system which allows to control of multiple properties over a single click and also helps in elevating the revenue.
