GLENMORANGIE A TALE OF THE FOREST

Description: Rich, deep and fascinating, Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest is Glenmorangie’s first whisky ever crafted from barley kilned with woodland botanicals. Inspired by the natural, everchanging wonder Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden, encounters as he wanders the woods near his home, this experimental limited edition evokes the scents, sounds and sights of the forest itself. Its delightful flavours of pine, juniper and woodsmoke have led illustrator Pomme Chan to dream up her own fantastical forest, showcased on the whisky’s pack with rare aromas of pine needles and juniper, laced with wisps of smoke. He then aged it in bourbon casks including many refill casks, chosen to allow the spirit’s flavours to shine.

Pairing up with Glenmorangie to bring the whisky’s flavours to life on its pack, Thai illustrator Pomme Chan walked deep into her favourite forest in northern Thailand and began to draw, taking inspiration from her surroundings and her conversations with Dr Bill about Scotland. Soon she created her own fantastical forest, which inspires the packaging’s design. A feast of sumptuous technicolour, her illustration echoes the flavours and botanicals of the whisky – with blossoming heather, fragrant juniper and oranges and pine cones dancing on the breeze.

GLENMORANGIE SIGNET

A velvet explosion, inspired by espresso. 

As Dr Bill, our freethinking Director of Whisky Creation, enjoyed a cup of his favourite Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, the notion of Signet first came to him. At once his mind filled with spiralling mocha flavours that he could not forget. It would take him years to bring our unprecedented whisky to life. But in its tiramisu tones and melting chocolate, you can taste his most delicious imaginings.   

Signet begins with our precious chocolate malt spirit, made just once a year in our giraffe-high stills. Its espresso-like intensity fills our Distillery with aromas more familiar in an Italian coffee bar. Over the years, we temper its power with rare and treasured casks. Bourbon for creaminess. Sherry for sweetness. The spice of virgin charred oak. All balanced by some of the oldest whisky we own. The result? A velvet explosion of flavour. Bursts of bitter mocha, sizzling spice and waves of dark chocolate, mellowed by smooth butterscotch. Whisky, as you have never tasted it before. 

Taste: A velvet explosion of crackling spices swirls around bitter mocha and dark chocolate, toasted hazelnuts and mellow butterscotch. 

Aroma: Coffee, ginger and cinnamon melt into dark chocolate and tiramisu, with dark toffee, crystallized orange peel and rich fruit cake.

Finish: Mocha and spice combine with cappuccino and amaretto, before a finale of chocolate-coated raisins and orange.

SUGAR SYRUP – 5ML

SALINE SOLUTION – 3 DROPS

Method

Add all ingredients in desired quantities in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Double strain in a chilled Coupe glass and garnish with 3 coffee beans and serve.
