hotels, an afternoon tea usually consists of a few savouries like sandwiches and sweets paired

with their afternoon or High tea. But one drawback, this concept has always been perceived for

a ‘certain class’.

But one cafe in Kolkata is breaking all norms and bringing the experience a little closer to all of

What IS the Afternoon High Coffee Experience?

Picture this, a three tier stand filled with savoury sandwiches, tarts, scones with berry compote

and some in-house baked goods, and all of this paired with tasting portions of different coffees -

black, milk-based and a third where coffee acts just as an ingredient. All the coffees are brewed

using their signature house blend from Bloom Coffee Roasters.The High-Coffee experience at

Potboiler aims to highlight not just the different ways coffee can be served but also how coffee

roast profile and coffee estate and regions impact the final cup.

“Kolkata as a city has accepted a new wave of Cafe and coffee culture. One can now

distinguish an Americano from a Pour-Over. Consumers have started looking for region-specific

beans, so we thought this would be the best time to elevate the coffee experience.

We have paired flavours and food dishes that people are familiar with, with different kinds of

coffees. Each pairing aims at highlighting different aspects of coffees and how it works on our

palette.''
