New Delhi, 29 August, 2019: Laying the ground work towards a healthy future, Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi launched a unique campaign ‘Nourishing the Nation’. As a part of this campaign, a chef’s journey from being ‘Food makers’ to ‘Experience curators’ was taken a notch higher, where the chefs donned the hat of ‘Life Enhancers’ for theunderprivileged.
The campaign was launched this year on Independence Day, wherein the team visited thefirst NGO on their list – Bal Sahyog, an institution for orphan, helpless, abandoned and neglected children. Led by Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Executive Sous Chef, the team of chefs conducted a workshop highlighting food safety and explained the benefits of vital cooking ingredients, followed by a nutritious meal served to the children. The culinary team educated Bal Sahyog management and helped planning affordable menus that are high in nutrients.
“Learning every detail about ingredients that I use while cooking is what I am quite passionate about and this time I am excited to share my knowledge for this special initiative. It’s essential that everyone realizes nutrients are vital in our overall development and why nutrient-rich foods must be incorporated in the daily diet”

With comprehensive knowledge of various ingredients and the health benefits attached to them, the chefs will work closely with various NGOs to plan affordable yet nutrient rich menus that promote a healthy future for the country.
In addition, this team will be collaborating with other NGO’s from the Delhi NCR region to educate them on the importance of nutrition and nourish the nation by nourishing theyoung minds.
