Over the past decades, tourism has continued accomplished expansion and diversification. Each year on 27 September the World Tourism Day is celebrated to make people attentive about the concern of tourism and how it benefits the economic growth of the country or region. The main role of this day is to high point the global significance of tourism as a tool for global evolution and cultural enlightenment.
UNWTO chooses India as the host country to celebrate World Tourism Day 2019 on the theme ‘Tourism and Jobs: A better future for all, with the purpose to foster awareness among the international community on the significance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic appraisal. The Event pursue to address global challenges bordered by the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and highlight the contribution the tourism sector can make in reaching these goals. Every year UNWTO invites people of all ages and backgrounds to hold and take part in WTD celebrations in their respective countries or holiday destination.
