Dhaulakuan, January 24, 2025: Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (IIM) organized the Industry Advisory Board 3.0 meeting, hosting esteemed leaders from the travel and tourism industry, including representatives from globally recognized organizations like American Express GBT, Alike.io and FCM. Their participation enriched the day’s proceedings and provided IIM Sirmaur students with invaluable insights into the evolving dynamics of the tourism sector.
The day commenced with a plantation drive near the newly inaugurated academic block, symbolizing IIM Sirmaur’s commitment to sustainability and a greener future. The dignitaries, along with faculty members and students, planted saplings, laying down roots for an eco-friendly and clean environment.
This was followed by a conference between the institute’s leadership and the industry representatives, where discussions revolved around aligning the MBA (Tourism Management) and MBA (Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Management) curriculum with emerging industry trends. These interactions reinforced IIM Sirmaur’s unique position as the only IIM offering an MBA program exclusively focused on touris showcasing its dedication to providing industry-relevant education.
The centerpiece of the event was the Roundtable Mentorship Workshop, where students had the unique opportunity to engage in personalized mentorship sessions with industry leaders. These discussions allowed students to seek guidance, career advice, and insights into the evolving demands of the tourism sector. The direct interaction with such stalwarts not only broadened the students' perspectives but also equipped them with knowledge to prepare for dynamic careers in the industry.
