Kris Correya & United Machines

Electronic music and Kris Correya are synonymous in India.

Starting off as one of the creative heads of Zenzi (an iconic brand of Mumbai’s art & music scene), Kris pushed the boundaries for artistic curation as a career for more than a decade. As a Dj/Selector, Kris blends electronic sounds sampled with jazz, soul, and funk.

His eclectic tastes in music have had him featuring at top of the line venues and festivals in India as well as the UK, France, Germany, Russia and the Netherlands.
2018 will see his debut as a film director/editor with an indie arthouse documentary “4 Stories & A Funeral” along with the production of the soundtrack to his credits.

United Machines represents one of the first waves of Electronic Music acts from India playing 100% Live, Improvised House + Techno music on Synths, Samplers & Drum machines.

Mumbai based synthesist, multi-instrumentalist and equipment collector Himanshu Pandey conceptualized United Machines in 2013 as a live, improvisational act that moves across genres and setups for each unique set. Previous sets have included Lo-fi/Noiz synthesis at ReProduce LR Sessions (Pune & Mumbai), Modular synthesis set (Antisocial), Electro Funk/Disco (Bonobo), Juke/Garage (Summerhouse), Piano House/ Proto Techno (The Den), Acid House (Future Theory Festival).

Since 2001, Himanshu has been obsessively building the largest private collection of samplers, sequencers, synthesizers and drum machines in the country (including vintage equipment sourced from Bollywood studios), while actively encouraging and developing the community through workshops, mentorship, and open jam sessions.

The live United Machines setup is a continuously evolving balance of technical complexity and real-time control. FM synths, analog monosynths, drum machines, samplers, vocal stabs & 303 squelches – it’s all there and computer free.
