Culinary Expert & Home Chef, Nayana Afroz to curate an exquisite menu in a 10 day food festival

Mumbai, 16th April 2019: Sofitel Mumbai BKC’s “Home Chef’s Special Series” is back with authentic Bangaldeshi Fare. The 10-day food festival is scheduled from 12th to 21st April, 2019 at the hotel’s signature restaurant Jyran – Tandoor Dining & Lounge. To bring the variety of the indigenous cuisine, the luxury hotel has brought a Dhaka based culinary expert, home chef and renowned food consultant Nayana Afroz. The menu has been carefully curated comprising of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes from the neighbouring country.

Bangladesh shares its culinary heritage with the Indian state of West Bengal. Its rich cultural heritage, medieval literature, festivities and riverine geography is reflected in its scrumptious cuisine. The piquant delectables are prepared using an array of spices along with a dollop of ghee. The luxury hotel’s ‘Home Chefs Special Series’ will present the signature dishes from the region specially curated to offer the authentic Bangladeshi cuisine to Mumbaikars. The menu will include signature delicacies like Alu Begun er Chop, Begun Khashi, Chicken Jali Kebab, Hnadi Kabab, Mutton Tehari, Narkel Dudhe Hnash, Shotkora Mutton, Zarda with Anarosh and more.

Nayana Afroz is a passionate culinary expert who developed an avid interest in the regional cuisines of Bangladesh during her extensive travels in different regions of the country and is currently working to popularise the same in both Bangladesh and India. The boutique hotel introduced the concept of Home Chefs Special Series to acquaint guests with the flavours and culture of the regional food in India and its neighbouring countries.
