Mumbai, Saturday, 15th June: Sofitel Mumbai BKC is hosting a delectable Turkish Food Festival in association with Raffles Istanbul and IndiGo scheduled from 14th to 23rd June, 2019 at the All-Day Dining – Pondichéry Café. The culinary affair was inaugurated last night and showcased the best of Turkish cuisine, presenting a chance for the guests to savour authentic and delicious Turkish delicacies. But that’s not all! The boutique hotel gives you the opportunity to be a ‘lucky winner’ to win an all-expense paid trip for two to Istanbul, sponsored by the food festival partners Raffles Istanbul and IndiGo. The festival was inaugurated with an extravagant cultural dance performance by a professional Turkish Dance Troupe, who has been specially flown down by the luxury hotel. To make it a more real and personalised food sojourn, the 10-day exotic food festival will have chefs coming all the way from Raffles Istanbul to give guests an authentic taste of their homeland.

Turkish cuisine is largely the heritage of the Ottoman cuisine, which is a fusion and refinement of Central Asian, Caucasian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Balkan cuisine. A special menu has been curated by expert Chefs Mehmet Ogurtan and Hakan Guzelkokar from Raffles Istanbul for the food festival in Mumbai. Some local favourites of Turkey such as Tas Kebab, Chicken Mahmudiye, Patlıcan Kebab, Lamb Döner Shrimp Guveç, Vegetable Crockpot and more will be a part of the menu. For dessert lovers, there are multiple options to choose from such as Irmik Halva with Pine Nut, Oven Baked Rice Pudding, Candied Pumpkin and more.
