Domino’s Pizza India too launches contactless delivery

17/03/2020

Domino’s Pizza India has launched the no-contact food delivery services across the country, the company said in a statement. The contactless delivery services will be available across all the 1325 restaurants of the pizza chain across the country, it added.

Customers can opt for this new service via the latest version of the Domino’s app on prepaid orders only, the company said. This service will allow customers to receive their orders without coming into contact with the delivery staff. The delivery agent will place the order in front of the customer’s door and will wait at a safe distance until he ensures that the order has been collected.

“In these difficult times, we have put in place even more stringent hygiene and sanitation protocols in our stores and for delivery. All delivery staff is company employees who have been hired after being health checked. In addition, we have today launched Zero Contact Delivery. Customers can place an online order through the Domino’s app, ask for Zero Contact Delivery and pay digitally. We will then deliver the Domino’s pizzas to customers without any physical contact with our guests. Customer and Employee safety is our No.1 priority and we are taking all measures towards that,” said Pratik Pota, CEO & Whole Time Director, Jubilant FoodWorks.

Domino’s Pizza, which is owned by Jubilant Foodworks, is the latest food brand to offer the contactless delivery option to its customers. McDonald’s has also launched a contactless delivery service to deliver food to the customers’ doorstep.

Additionally, top food delivery platforms Zomato and Swiggy, have also taken multiple measures – from telling consumers to let delivery partners leave the packages at the door to offering insurance and financial support to delivery staff in case they are infected with the virus – to mitigate any negative impact on consumer deliveries.
