World Cocktail Day Special: Feel Refreshed This Summer With Diageo India Serves

Little did we know two centuries ago that cocktails will evolve from just being the celebratory element at events to a drink we enjoy on a regular basis. Since the term “cocktail” was formally defined on May 13, 1806, the day has been celebrated with readily accessible ingredients that may be mixed with your favorite spirit, whether it be scotch, vodka or gin.

This World Cocktail Day on 13th May 2022, Diageo India continues its tradition of offering summertime in a glass with a few delectable recipes. Hone your bartending skills with expert recommendation by the Brand Ambassadors of Diageo and raise a toast to your love for these tasty and refreshing alcoholic drinks.

TANQUERAY BASIL

By Ajay Nayyar, Brand Ambassador, Diageo India

Ingredients:

  • 45ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
  • 5 to 6 Basil Leaves
  • 1 TSP Honey
  • 10ml Lime Juice 

Glassware: Old Fashioned Glass

Garnish: Lime Wheel or Basil Sprig

Method:

  1. Add 4 cubes of ice along with all the ingredients into a

cocktail shaker and shake well

  1. Double strain the liquid into the glass
  2. Garnish and serve

NO ‘SINGLE’ WAY

Ingredients       

  • 60ml Singleton Of Glendullan 12YO
  • 15ml Lime Juice
  • 1 Barspoon Orange Or Apricot Jam

Glassware: Martini/ Coupe

Garnish: Orange Peel

Method:

  1. Add 4 cubes of ice along with all the ingredients into a cocktail

shaker and shake well

  1. Double strain the liquid into the glass
  2. Garnish and serve

Johnnie Walker Black Label Coco Highball

Ingredients: 

  • 60ml Johnnie Walker Black Label  
  • Coconut soda  
  • 3 Lime Wedges 
  • Fresh Coconut 
  • Ice 

Glassware: A highball glass 

Method: 

  • Take a highball glass and fill it with ice.  
  • Pour the whiskey and top with coconut soda  
  • Stir it gently  
  • Add coconut as garnish and serve.  

Note: Fresh Coconut water soda recipe. We can have two recipes here: 

  • Take some fresh coconut water and fizz it, using soda syphon or Dr Butter (or) 
  • Make a coconut syrup and add a little citric acid to make it a cordial. Pour 30 ml of this cordial into chilled soda.

Smirnoff Cucumber Cooler

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Smirnoff Vodka
  • 8 to 10 Cucumber Chunks
  • Few Coriander Leaves
  • 20ml Lime Juice
  • 10ml Sprite
  • ½ Slit Green Chilly

Glassware: Highball Glass

Garnish: Coriander Sprig/Cucumber Slice

Method:

  1. Add 4 cubes of ice along with all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker

and shake well

  1. Double strain the liquid into the glass
  2. Garnish and serve

SPICED MAPLE SOUR

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Black & White Scotch Whisky
  • 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • Half tsp Pumpkin Spice Powder
  • 20 ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • 12-15 Ice cubes

Glassware: Highball Glass

Garnish: Sprinkle Pumpkin spice and Cinnamon stick

Method:In a tall glass filled with ice, pour the whisky, add the maple syrup, pumpkin spice powder and stir. Top with lime juice.
