Bengaluru’s young chefs make it to the Mega Finals at the Young Chef India Schools, 2018

 imageBengaluru’s Zahaan Gafoor from Mallya Aditi International School and Pratiksha D. Hinduja from Frank Anthony Public School make it to the Mega-finals at the Young Chef India Schools 2018. Zahaan and Pratiksha fought their way up to become the top two finalists from South Zone after competing against over 30,000 young participants since the inception of this year’s competition.

The duo who are amongst the top 10 finalists will be competing in the Mega-finals that will be held on April 13th2018 at Delhi for the coveted title and a prize money of Rs. 5,00,000 and a scholarship to study at The International Institute of Hotel management. The participants will be judged on metrics such as culinary skills and techniques, adherence to good health and safety and hygiene practice, minimal waste and best use of ingredients, professional appearance, attitude, dish presentation, taste and flavor.

The Young Chef India School was created as a platform giving opportunity for higher secondary students, where budding Chefs get a glimpse of the workings of the Culinary Industry and gain global recognition. The previous editions saw an increasingly positive response from the schools across India and gained a global recognition by the hospitality community, making the event a benchmark for the industry.

image2In the past eight years this event has taken a mega turn with coveted TV channels such as NDTV Good Times in 2017 and FOOD FOOD Channel in 2018 taking a keen interest and telecasting the competition.
