Mumbai, 18th September 2018: A splendid dining experience awaited guests at Jyran – Tandoor Dining & Lounge, as EazyDiner and renowned food critic Vir Sanghvi presided over a seven-course meal, serving the finest and most authentic cuisine inspired from the Indian Northwest Frontier Province and paired with exquisite single malts like Dalwhinne, Caol Ila and Talisker. Curated with a contemporary twist by Master Chef Shadab Ahmed, this unique dining soirée was a precursor to a novel table d’hote experience that will be introduced shortly at the internationally acclaimed Jyran – the award-winning signature dining restaurant at Sofitel Mumbai BKC. The crème-de-la-crème of Mumbai who attended the event and with whom Mr. Chakraborty and Mr. Sanghvi interacted, commented that the dinner was par excellence and the experience was equivalent to most Michelin star restaurants.

The fabulous seven-course meal began with chefs serving guests amuse-bouche, triggering off a burst of flavours to follow. Non-vegetarians relished the mouthwatering Kache Aam Ki Lauj, Lobster Malai, Dum Ka Bater and more, while the vegetarians indulged in Magaj Aur Rajgira, Bharwan Talegaon Aloo, Gobhi Dum Mussalam and more. The essence of Jyran – its signature Dal Makhni, together with a mélange of greens was served with bread as a common option for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Meanwhile, to cleanse the palate there was Nimbu Shikanji Sorbet and Chakotera.

The time was ripe for the main course: Sigdi Ka Bhuna Raan with Bharwan Guchchi Pulao and Kharode Ka Ras for non-vegetarians, Paneer Anari, Bharwan Guchchi Pulao and Tamatar Ka Raas for vegetarians. To conclude the evening on a sweet note, guests were served the Mumbai Daab Falooda with its tender textures and subtle toppings of chia seeds and coconut.

Biswajit Chakraborty, General Manager, Sofitel Mumbai BKC said, “We are delighted to introduce a seven-course table d’hote menu at our award-winning signature restaurant Jyran – Tandoor Dining & Lounge. The launch event in the presence of renowned food critic Vir Sanghvi boasted of special attention to detail, not only in the menu creation by our skilled chefs, but also ensuring a delectable fine-dining experience for the guests. I would like to thank EazyDiner, Diago Whiskey, our chefs and service staff for their contribution in adding a delightful dimension to fine-dining options in the city.”

In 2012, Sofitel Mumbai BKC unveiled Jyran – Tandoor Dining & Lounge in the heart of the city. It has now become a leading destination in Mumbai’s culinary circuit, adding a new dimension to its nightlife. Jyran in Persian translates to ‘Lost Love’ and is a name symbolic of hope, new beginnings and emotions that follow a deep and moving experience. Inspired from the Indian Northwest Frontier Province, a land of warriors and poets, the restaurant’s décor and cuisine has been designed with celebration and drama in mind. A must-visit eclectic restaurant by day, the elegant ambiance transforms into a stylish lounge by night.
