Fire Safety training for Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) employees

32 Candidates Certified by Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Panaji

Goa, October 26, 2018: The employees of Indian Hotels Company Limited (Taj, Vivanta, Ginger and TajSATS Air Catering) across India have undergone training in Special Course in General Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Batch No. XXVII for a period of 15 days, from 22.09.2018 to 06.10.2018 at Goa State Fire Force Training, St. Inez, Panaji, Goa. A total of 34 candidates from various states namely Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Haryana, Assam, Andaman, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kolkata, Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh participated in the training.

Mr. Ashok Menon, Director – Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Panaji was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. Also present for the function were Mr. Vincent Ramos, Area Director – IHCL, Goa and General Manager – Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Goa along with Mr. Prakash Shirlekar, Manager – TajSATS Air Catering, Goa among other officers and staff of the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services.

The Special Course in General Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting for Indian Hotels Company Limited was specially designed subjecting the trainees to various technological advancements in Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention and Life Safety, Evacuation Procedure and Medical First Responder Techniques related to the hospitality industry, both theoretically and practically.

Mr. Ashok Menon congratulated the trainees for successfully completing the training and advised to follow the best practices, Mr. Vincent Ramos also addressed the trainees. The trophies were awarded to Mr. Kunal Bajpai (Rambagh Palace, Jaipur) for standing 1st, Mr. Suresh Bhairu Bhujbal (Vivanta Blue Diamond, Pune) for standing 2nd and Mr. Sahil S. Havaldar (Vivanta Panaji, Goa) for standing 3rd in the training. Certificates were awarded to all the trainees for successfully completing the training at the hands of Mr. Ashok Menon, Mr. Vincent Ramos and Mr. Prakash Shirlekar.
