Hike in tourists arrivals in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has seen a 7% increase in tourist arrivals in 2019. This year they will be promoting the state as an adventure and experiential destination. Saurabh Pandey, Assistant Manager- Events and Marketing, MPTB  said, “In 2020, we are pitching all the adventure and experiential products in Madhya Pradesh. Besides this, film tourism and events are a major segment for us”. 

A lot of Hollywood, Bollywood projects and web series have been shot this time in Madhya Pradesh. Bollywood movie Indian 2 and Paramount a Hollywood project are currently being shot in the state. Apart from all this MPTB is looking at events in Madhya Pradesh. MP will be the first state to organize IISA after Mumbai. IIFA will be held in Indore and Bhopal from March 27 to 29, 2020. ITA awards are already conducted in MP last year. 

After successfully conducting the Mandu Festival, MPTB is now focusing on ‘Namaste Orchha’. The tourism board has received a great response in Mandu festival, the tourists also visited a number of heritage locations around Mandu. Orchha, the MP board says in an unexplored town and will soon be emerging as the top heritage destinations in MP. Orchha boasts great wildlife and riverfront. Namaste Orchha festivals will be held from March 6 to 8, 2020. MPTB will soon be organizing the Khajuraho Dance Festival which is quite famous. 

MP being the Tiger state of the nation receives a good number of domestic and foreign tourists. The best time to visit MP is from October to March. Madhya Pradesh boasts 10 national parks, 6 tiger reserves and 26 wildlife sanctuaries. Pandey further added, “Besides OTM we have participated in SATEE, GITB, IITT, TTF and other small scale exhibitions. For inbound, we have so far conducted 8 roadshows across India in cities like Vizag, Aurangabad, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmadabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad”.
