ABOUT House Arrest

House Arrest is a monthly property focusing on groovy house, disco, minimal, tech, deep-tech and everything in between! Each month one guest act is invited to perform alongside the resident duo Obscure x Roan Sable.

Originally a concept founded by Obscure who later joined forces with long time friend and fellow house music enthusiast Roan Sable. Together with their immense love for the music and the art form, they have dedicated the better part of their lives to build the house music culture in their city.

House Arrest is also a platform for upcoming artists exploring the house music spectrum.

About Obscure

The trance around dance music was Obscure’s entrée into the world of disc jockeying. Spanning from House to Techno, Obscure artistic expression stems from fluidity through ever-transforming rhythms of the underground scene. Expression as an artist, in Obscure’s words , is to be fluid through electronic music, which is constantly evolving. The drive to perform was ignited by various local and international acts. The curiosity over the equipment responsible for creating the beats intensified his disposition to be on stage.

ABOUT Roan Sable

 Every story has a beginning and Roan Sable’s story began behind a DJ booth at the age of 15. He wasn’t headlining. He wasn’t an artist yet. He wasn’t even supposed to be there. Having been snuck into the party by an older cousin, he found himself lost in the music and not the crowd.

About a decade and a full circle later, Roan’s back in the same spot, except tables have turned. Armed with an education in Sound Engineering from SAE, now an established DJ/Producer who has been heavily active in the Indian underground music scene since 2014.

Roan Sable’s is heavily influenced by artists like Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Apollonia, Marco Carola and The Martinez Brothers. Comfortably navigating both day time open air gigs with funky old school house/disco to more intense night time club/warehouse gigs with the deeper/darker shades of house music, he is focused on locking the crowd in his groove.

In 2022, along with long time collaborator ‘Obscure’, he launched ‘House Arrest’, a concept night that focuses on promoting House + Disco music in India.
