Indian foods @ ‘Haldi’ hit Galesburg

Haldi_Logox250At the Taste of Galesburg, ‘Haldi’ an Indian Restaurant has made a big hit.

The restaurant opened in Galesburg on the account that it had Chinese and Mexican food and pizza, but no Indian food. So the owner wanted to lay anIndian restaurant and let people know about Indian food.

Thus it hired Chef Karthick Veeraiyan who had his culinary studies from India in 2003, and had worked at various restaurants crosswise US for 13 years.

The Galesburg gave a great response to the new Indian restaurant. The restaurant is open from 5 to 9 p.m. every day but it sells of all its food by 7:30 pm.

h“We never expected that. It was like an explosion. This is a welcome I’ve never seen before,” said Veeraiyan.

Haldi uses only fresh ingredients nothing frozen. It serves up diverseIndian traditional dishes, both non-vegetarian and vegetarian such as butter chicken, aloo gobi masala and Mumbai lamb saag.

The food is Indian, but is garnished with American spices and garnishes.
