Introducing Geometrica – India’s First Conceptual Art Holiday Home by Le Sutra

06/08/2021

Le Sutra is a brand distinguished for its creative art hospitality ranging from boutique art hotels, art residences and acclaimed restaurants. With the help of some extremely talented artists, the team at Le Sutra is set to launch India’s first Conceptual Art Villa- Geometrica.

Le Sutra Great Escapes are a collection of breath-taking dinky hotels ensconced in scenic locales. Why do we call them dinky hotels? In addition to the magnificent art-themed interiors, the villas offer a quality hotel experience within private holiday homes. The 300 thread count sheets, In-house dining, toiletry provisions, housekeeping and the very prized hotel room bathrobe and slippers are only a few of the many features the villas will have to offer. The villas will be of a standard like no other that guarantees its guests a worry-free stay! Le Sutra recognizes the gravitation towards holiday villas and away from hotel rooms as people want and to stay, dine and enjoy the company of the people they choose within the exclusivity of a private villa. However, most holiday homes had no fixed standards and photographs can often be deceptive- and therefore led to multiple disappointments! That inspired Le Sutra to launch dinky hotels, a variation from the average holiday home, which are branded, standardized and continuously audited.

Located in the beautiful hill station of Lonavala, Geometrica, the first villa is a sprawling three-bedroom villa in a private gated community set in verdant surroundings with a view of the magnificent Sahyadris. It is a labour of love with abstracted geometrical forms represented in Indian art, into prized paintings, symbolic sculptures, and inspiring installations.

The entrance of Geometrica features an eye-catching wall installation, shaped out of metal embossing on copper sheets with a patina effect. It is a rendition of celestial bodies- the sun, moon, and constellations. The Sahasrara Chakraabstraction in the foyer is crafted out of a punched metal sheet which is backlit for a dramatic effect. A one-of-a-kind installation of the Vastupurush Mandal as ground artwork in the mosaic flooring and an added feature of a temple top (shikhar) in basalt stone, claims its place of pride in the living room. An intriguing glass mosaic wall feature in the living room comprises seven eyes, inspired by the chakras of the human body. Original acrylic on canvas paintings, which are beautiful geometrical interpretations of Indian art, seamlessly align with the villa’s theme.

Each bedroom in the villa has something unique about its headboard in terms of design and concept. One of the bedrooms in the villa has a handmade sepia-hued ceramic installation with hints of pink and blue tones. Another features backlit white marble panels carved in soundwave patterns forms a whimsical headboard. The third bedroom has a three-dimensional step well-inspired headboard in cement finish.

Well, that was a scripted tour of the indoor, now let’s take a look at the magnificent outdoor property: A basalt stone sculpture represents the Hamsa hand, known as a sign of protection. The Hamsa has been given a further layer through metal inlay of symbols representing the five elements. The outdoor area includes an exclusive private swimming pool, a lovely garden and a covered bar, perfect for unwinding in the evening.

The poolside has a prominent neo tantric art inspired Basalt stone sculpture that was hand-carved by a regional artist in the span of 80 days around the world! The snazzy outdoor bar area that overlooks the pool, perfect for those who wish to kick back, features an illusion mirror that immediately lightens the mood. The icing on the cake is the proposal point at the foot of the magnificent mountain view where a mere mortal can propose to his beloved! It is also the ideal place for making pre-wedding trailers which can be coordinated at request!

With a stay so gorgeous, comes great and delicious food. You can opt for a meal-plan where they provide scrumptious fusion dishes from their own restaurant, Anglo Indian by Out of the Blue, which is adjacent to the villa. With a classic yet fun and familiar approach that is innovative, the food is going to focus on reimagining traditional recipes and showcasing them in a contemporary way. It surely is going to be a treat for the eyes and a feast for the soul. They also offer a perfect setting for all kinds of celebration, be it a barbecue night in the garden, or dinner by the poolside or a romantic proposal near the arch. Additionally, they can also arrange yoga, spa massage, charcoal sketching, and painting sessions in the villa on request, subject to availability. The villa is suited for all sorts of gathering be it Family trips, Reunion with friends, C-Suite offsites, Exclusive art retreats, Private celebrations etc. They are even open to offering the place to production houses for shoots. The property also has a caretaker that supervises the housekeeping and is available on call should you need any support.

The sprawling property will soon have another breath-taking conceptual art villa, which poses to be a personal getaway to rest, revive and rejuvenate. But till then, they are poised to unveil their first Le Sutra Great Escapes villa, Geometrica.
