As Bandra’s very own fine-dining haven Joshi House by restauranteur Suren Joshi completes 2 years, the first floor of the house gives way to its newest Italian offering, Level 1 Pizzas at Joshi House. The rave reviews of the sourdough naan and kulchas at Joshi House compelled the chefs to think beyond and experiment with pizzas. This process, over the last 6 months, has given birth to a range of gourmet sourdough pizzas baked in a massive red wood-fired oven visible through a window as you walk up to the first floor.

Level 1 Pizzas at Joshi House promises an unparalleled gourmet pizza indulgence that focuses solely on creating and enjoying top-notch pizzas. Their mission is simple: deliver the best, distraction-free pizzas that transcend all culinary expectations. Suren Joshi and his brigade of chefs led by Richard D’Souza have always wanted to introduce nice pizzas to Bandra West, so they take their first step with this addition to their existing menu.

 “My interest has always been in consuming healthier foods, and we tried to do the same with the pizzas we make through the use of sourdough for the base. I believe our pizzas will hit the spot for those looking for niche and healthy options”,

The kitchen team understands the importance of balance between indulgence and well-being, and therefore they have chosen sourdough as the foundation for their pizzas. They have perfected the art of crafting sourdough pizza crusts that are not only healthier but also delightfully fluffy and light, where each bite is an ode to both your taste buds and your health. They also offer a thoughtfully curated collection of wines and wine cocktails that have been expertly chosen to enhance the flavors of each pizza, allowing you to explore the intricate dance between food and drink. 

Most of the ingredients used to masterfully create these pizzas are high-end and imported- a truffle Picante sauce, cream cheese as a base for a few pizzas, smoked Norwegian salmon, and vegan cheese for the vegan pizza. They have also used a medley of fresh exotic mushrooms like portobello, shitake, and milky for their Truffle Mushroom pizza. The menu of Level 1 Pizzas at Joshi House offers an exquisite assortment of 12 gourmet pizzas, divided into 6 vegetarian and 6 non-vegetarian options.

Each pizza captures the essence of true Italian nuances. We recommend you try the Pesto Burrata, Fig & Caramelised Onion, and classic Margherita, pizzas from their vegetarian offerings, and the Bolognese, Smoky Salmon, and Spicy Diavola pizzas from the non-vegetarian. With a seating capacity of 24 guests at a time, the upstairs section maintains an intimate ambiance.

Chef Richard D’Souza’s culinary journey is a tapestry woven with prestigious experiences and tantalizing flavors. With an impressive tenure of 7 years at the renowned Taj Mahal Palace and Towers Mumbai, particularly at Masalakraft, he honed his craft to perfection. He then ventured to Taj Cape Town, gracing the Bombay Brasserie restaurant as Senior Sous Chef, adding a year of brilliance to hisrepertoire.
Not one to rest on laurels, Chef Richard stepped into the spotlight as the Head Chef at Pali Bhavan, a role he embraced for 6 flavorful years. And now, the saga continues at Joshi House, where his culinary artistry takes center stage, creating taste sensations that linger long after the last bite.

Created by restaurateur Suren Joshi and architect Ashiesh Shah, Joshi House earned the status of a ‘place to be seen at’ within weeks of opening up. This restaurant is known for its selection of dishes from global modern cuisine, the best Rajasthani hospitality, and surreal all-white marble interiors. The name itself exudes a certain kind of warmth and luxury that one would meet with as they enter the theme-based ‘private rooms’. The first floor is a combination of 2 spaces- the all white outside space and the inside intimate black-and-white pizza lounge. The walls are covered with giant elephant murals and the room offers a cozy bar as well. The space comes together to celebrate craftsmanship through hand-carved columns, impeccably detailed railings, and hand-cut mirrored ceilings, honoring the philosophies of wabi-sabi through a juxtaposition of perfect imperfection.
