Kerala expects an increased footfall

Kerala has taken a lot of initiatives to increase tourism in the state which includes ‘Tourism Trade Meets’. Therefore this year they are expecting a major footfall. Last year the total footfall between January to September was  1.32 crore, domestic travellers. The state has further started the second phase of national partnership meets which will continue till March. 

Kerala this time has adopted new experiences and products which are tailor-made to increase the interest of tourists. There are a few concepts introduced which include experiencing the village life which will include calm boat rides, silent walks through the greenery, backwater cruises etc. to increase tourism in Kerala further projects are initiated like Spice Route Project, Kochi-Muziris Biennale and Muziris Heritage Project etc. 

Tourism in Kerala is facing issues these days due to cancellations of tours. Tourists are afraid of the breakout of Coronavirus. A lot of cancellations are seen Kerala Tourism Development Corporation. As of now, 2800 people are being observed in Kerala for Coronavirus infection. Although no new cases are in light right now, 83 of them are kept in isolation wards while the others are under home quarantine.
