Koko celebrates the Chinese New Year

The Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year is a time of reunion and thanksgiving. The symbol for the Chinese New Year this year will be the Metal Rat. Staying true to its roots Koko will be celebrating the Chinese New Year all week long from 22nd January – 26th January 2020. The Chinese New Year is one of the most auspicious festivals in the year with the whole family coming together from different parts of the country for a traditional meal. Keeping these points in mind Koko has curated a special cocktail menu taking inspiration from Lucky Lunar Food. The cocktail menu comprises of various unique cocktails like Nothing Fishy, Tray of Togetherness, Tang Yuan Drink, Som Tam Cup to name a few.

Nothing Fishy is inspired by the famous Chinese New Year Tradition of eating a whole Fish, however, cocktail contains Seaweed in place of Fish. The Tray of Togetherness is inspired by a very famous gift where the Box contains a lot of dehydrated fruits, nuts, and Chocolates. One can add an element of their choosing to the drink to best suit their taste buds. The Som Tam Cup is a cocktail version of the authentic Som Tam Salad. Raw Papaya is mashed with peanuts and accompanied with Vodka and Wine added to give it some flavor and body.
