Mr Basil Massey joined The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts as Corporate General Manager Procurement

Basil C Massey graduated from Canada and followed up with graduation from Delhi University. He started his career as Asst. Manager of Prince Sweets, Canada – North America’s First Indian Sweet Shop in the year 1975. Basil has over 3 decades of rich Hospitality Industry experience in the field of Materials Management (Procurement, Negotiations, Logistics & Inventory Management) with leading hospitality brands. His main forte in Hotel & Air Catering has been Planning, Budgeting, Procurement, Execution and Commissioning of the project.

His rich experience of 3 decades includes a contribution to developing 3000 rooms for India’s premier luxury hotel company – Taj Group of Hotels, in his 27 years of tenure with the company. He has also served as Director – Procurement of Duet Hotels. He has majorly contributed towards New Greenfield Projects and major renovations of existing properties in India, Mauritius, Maldives and Kathmandu. During this rich experience of three decades, he has delivered around 67 new Greenfield and renovations projects for Internationally well-known brands like Taj, Hilton Garden Inn, Starwood – Four Points by Sheraton, IHG – Holiday Inn Express, Accor Hotels – Mercure.
