Radisson Blu Dwarka, New Delhi teams with Shoojit Sircar for ‘October’

Radisson Blu Dwarka, New Delhi, an upper upscale hotel located in the heart of New Delhi’s Dwarka area, recently teamed with Shoojit Sircar, Indian film director and producer of films like Piku, Vicky Donor and Pink for the shoot of ‘October’ – starring Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu in lead roles of Dan and Shiuli respectively.

Revolving around the life of Dan, the film was shot completely at Radisson Blu Dwarka where Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu practiced as hotel management trainees, performing their daily chores. The idea behind this was for the actors to grasp body language and behaviour to bring more realism to their character in the film. As the two main leads portray lives of hotel staff, Radisson Blu became the home for the entire crew of October for 45 days.

Varun Dhawan, Actor, said, “It was a very pleasant stay and shoot schedule as it sometimes gets difficult to shoot at various location but because of the hotel team and their support we were able to shoot smoothly. We got blanket permissions for shooting at various strategic locations and I have never shot in such a voyeuristic way. It was quite a memorable experience and we enjoyed a lot”.

Shoojit Sircar, Director, added, “The hotel cooperated with us during the shoot with excellent staff and services in terms of what we needed. I think this will be one of the most memorable experience we ever had”.

It started with a recce done at the hotel around July last year. The film’s team comprising the Director and Executive Producer, were enamoured by the hotel’s beautiful atrium view lobby which is its unique selling proposition and makes an impactful impression at the first sight. The panoramic view from conveyors, restaurants with ample natural light, wooden decked pool area and city view specially overlooking the Delhi Metro provided an ideal backdrop and sealed the deal. These aspects have been beautifully covered in the movie.

October is a film about unconditional love, from Dan’s pure and simple point of view and Shiuli’s silent, stoic stares. The film has received tremendous praise and positive endorsement from critics since its release.
