Recreating Munich, the home of Oktoberfest, in the heart of Chandigarh, 35 BREWHOUSE is bringing to life a relic from the world’s very first Oktoberfest in the form of ‘Märzenbier’. An Oktoberfest favourite brew, Märzenbier was the beer served at what became the first Oktoberfest celebration – the wedding reception for Bavarian King Ludwig I and Maria Theresa 185 years ago.

Märzenbier has historically been associated with the change of seasons, the onset of autumn and the celebrations that take place at that time.
