Contributors to community life will be honoured: Welcome Heroes

50-anniversary-logo-Mercure-and-Accor-Hotels-1000x600-260x146 AccorHotels honored everyday heroes – men and women, such as social workers, volunteers, firefighters, nurses and teachers – who work each day to serve their communities, by inviting them in more than 2,000 establishments around the world, including over 500 hotels in Asia Pacific and 53 hotels in India.

This global event was an opportunity for the Group and its more than 250,000 employees to thank the people who are committed to serving their communities by sharing a moment with them around a breakfast, a barbecue, a concert, or even by inviting them to stay the night as our guests.

In India, a “Lunch of Honor” was organized at various hotels for their selected unsung heroes.

Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach arranged for a traditional welcome for the local heroes as well as their families. They were offered a refreshing drink upon arrival followed by a lively welcome towards their lunch venue –The Square. Each hero was introduced and called on the dais to share their heartening journey. The AccorHotels 50th anniversary cake was cut by our heroes and they enthusiastically participated in posing for the pictures thereafter. As they relished the sumptuous buffet spread, the hotel guests and employee volunteers performed for them on the stage. The parting souvenirs were appreciated by the local heroes and they were overwhelmed at the hotel’s gesture and hospitality.

This was also an opportunity for the hotel staff to showcase their establishments, which are deeply rooted in the life of their neighbourhood, and to encourage local residents to go through their doors more often, without actually having to book a room.

AccorHotels 50th Anniversary key figures globally

90,000 guests – 6,650 free nights – 1,000 brunches – 450 cocktails events – 240 concerts/parties
